The Ice Maiden

April 3, 2030

"The Ice Maiden" features a Hollywood attorney and an aspiring starlet who wants to sue a producer for alleged sexual misconduct. There are no clear, or simple, answers in this #Me Too situation. Is the actress lying or is there truth in what she says? The attorney is determined to find out and discovers some truths about herself along the way. This world premiere written by Timothy Daly and directed by Dick Reichman emphasizes both the difficulty of public and personal resolution and the moral ambiguity of these issues.

Once upon a time, in a land not too far from here, there lived an old woman... who lost her voice. She didn't lose her voice suddenly. It happened over time. In fact, it happened so slowly that at first no one even noticed..." Jill Bess' new play is the story of an old woman, named Galena, who wakes up one day unable to speak. A cast of eight play 20 different roles in this sometimes comedy, sometimes drama, sometimes wrenching heartache of a story. The Old Woman Who Lost Her Voice is a modern-day fairy tale that speaks to anyone who has ever felt silenced.

"Two Jews Walk into a War..."

October 2019

"Two Jews Walk into a War..." ran weekends at Anchorage Community Theatre in October 2018.
This dark comedy written by Seth Rozin is about contemporary Jewish diaspora. The play is based on news stories about the last two Jews who remained in war-torn Kabul, Afghanistan during the period of Taliban terrorism. They'd known each other since childhood but had never liked each other. Rozin, inspired by the story, crafted a play in which two people attempt to work together - to keep the diaspora alive - in spite of their mutual disaffection. Rozin's play is filled with humor, sorrow, determination, and survival and gives us all something to think about.
RKP Productions founders ( Dick Reichman and Audrey and Bruce Kelly) were proud to present this timely production and believe that Robert Pond, RKP Productions co-founder who past last year, would agree. All RKP Productions are dedicated to the memory of Robert Pond to honor his many contributions to theatre in Anchorage Ak.
"Two Jews Walk into a War is directed by Janet Stoneburner, and features Dick Reichman as Ishaq and Mark Stoneburner as Zeblyan. Costumes by Janice Jones and Props by Ilona Wright set the stage.

"Out to Lunch"

Jan 2022

RKP Productions and Anchorage Community Theatre present

Out to Lunch; a Political Comedy.

The setting is a city council meeting in an unnamed small town. The mayor expects a quick vote from the 6 person council to decide if they should accept the offer of free covid vaccine for the community. But every council member has a different reason why they should or should not vote yes. Every conspiracy theory  we've heard these last  few years about  vaccines, fake news, government takeover, Bill Gates, and more becomes part of the ensuing dialog, some of which is bitingly funny.  But like a good comedy, there is  an undercurrent of sadness as we realize how ineffective the government has become and how the democratic process doesn't always work well.

"Tanker on the Rocks"

September 2020

"The Tanker on the Rocks or The Great Alaskan Bad Friday Fish Spill '89"

This parody of the cleanup efforts that followed the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989 is suitable for all ages. The oil spill that year was considered the worst environmental disaster of the time and today that tragic event is all but forgotten.  Tanker on the Rocks OR The Great Alaskan Bad Friday Fish Spill of '89 was written the year of that oil spill by Dick Reichman as a melodrama for the community.  Greed, dishonesty, and heroic efforts to do good are timeless plots in every melodrama. These issues remain prevalent in society today.

Join us in Low Perez, Alaska where corporate greed, mainstream media reports, and heroic efforts to do good collide.
